Start teaching with an Ùlpan Skills Conference!
For anyone wanting to teach the Ùlpan system, they first must successfully complete the tutor training course. This is a specially created course to develop the practical skills required in order to teach the language. This is currently done through two days skills training and six days live teaching, which is assessed. Upon completion, a registered tutor can gain employment as an independent or through providing classes for public sector bodies, such as colleges and local authorities.
9-10 June will see the second Ùlpan Skills Conference being held in Glasgow. There trainee tutors will get the chance to do two days of skills training, along with other trainees. Workshops will be delivered throughout the weekend, and trainees will have time to attend each one. Food and refreshments will also be provided. By the end, trainees will be familiar with each of the skills they need to teach Ùlpan. This is the first stage.
At the second stage of training, trainees will have the opportunity to put the skills they learned at the Skills Conference into practice with 'live' students, under the supervision of an Ùlpan trainer. The trainer will support the trainee as they develop their skills. And, at the end of the training, new tutors will receive further support from us in finding an employer or establishing classes independently.
The complete price for Ùlpan training is £400. (VAT is additional for sponsoring organisations)
There will be a further Conference held 8-9 September, in Glasgow.
